At Long Last: the Premiere of "Soy Andina!"
Ok, so it took 6 years, 5 trips to Peru, 140 hours of tape, 4 credit cards, 150 donors, and who knows how many guinea pigs killed during the making of the film...

The film will be hosted by the Center for Latin American, Caribbean and Latino Studies Department, which has long-supported Peruvian events, e.g. ex-President Toledo's talk in 2002, and Ballet Folklorico Peru's show in 2005 (The dance outdrew the President, by the way).
Proshansky is a great venue for our first screening. For one thing, it's big (350 seats) and comfy, with an excellent stage for the dance to follow. And it's located in the heart of New York City, centrally convenient for the Soy Andina community spread out from Patterson to Port Chester.
I thank Administrative Director Teresita Levy, who enthusiastically responded to my proposal, and to faculty professor Jose Luis Renique, my initial link to the institution.
Stay tuned for details. Can't make this? No worries. There will be more screenings in New York and around the country. Check the website or subscribe to the newsletter for announcements.

when is it going to be showing in California?

Just got back from Peru during the winter break - a group of 25 students and profs. Any chance the film will be shown in Philly in the not too distant future?
I am a translator and poet (British) (publish as C.A.de Lomellini) currently working with Rodolfo Hinostroza, I've published translations of works by several Peruvians. Am anxious to see the film on Feb 16 if there's still room. My computer went down at the beginning of the semester, was unable to read until today all the e mails que se acumularon mientras me jaraneaba en el Peru..
